Description
A United Kingdom Royal Mint 2000 Proof Coin Collection. This collection comprises eight modern coins, presented in a clear plastic display insert within a dark, velvet-lined, hinged presentation box. The set includes predominantly gold-toned and two copper-toned metallic coins. Visible dates include “2000” on several coins and “1999” on the central large coin. Denominations such as “FIVE POUNDS, ” “50 PENCE, ” “10 PENCE, ” and “2 PENCE” are present. Inscriptions visible include “STANDING ON THE SHOULDERS OF GIANTS, ” “WHAT’S PAST PROLOGUE, ” and the Latin “ELIZABETH II D G REG F D.” One coin prominently features the Welsh phrase “GWLAD PLEIDIOL WYF I, ” which translates to “True Am I to My Country.” The imagery includes various heraldic designs, such as crowns, lions, and a seated Britannia.
Condition report:
All coins appear to be in excellent, uncirculated condition, consistent with a proof set. The presentation box and clear plastic insert show minimal signs of handling or wear.
