Description
A collection of fourteen studio art glass paperweights, comprising pieces attributed via visible packaging and tags primarily to Caithness Paperweight (Scotland) and OKRA Glass. The collection features a variety of techniques and styles, including multi-colored abstract inclusions, controlled bubbles, internal lampwork florals, complex wavy color casings, and one traditional millefiori example. The majority of the paperweights are spherical or dome-shaped, utilizing clear, cobalt, pink, purple, green, and black glass. Notable inclusions include a clear paperweight with white internal lampwork, a black paperweight with a pink floral design, and several abstract pieces with internal air traps. One piece is a faceted paperweight in cobalt blue and clear glass, cut with a starburst pattern, consistent in style and material with Baccarat Zodiac sulphide paperweights identified in market research. Visible markings include “Caithness Paperweight” on several dark boxes and accompanying white tags, and “OKRA” on tags associated with two swirl-cased paperweights. The collection is presented with the majority of items retaining their original manufacturer’s boxes and identifying cards.
