Description
A collection of nine (9) circulating paper banknotes from three European issuers: Great Britain (UK), Portugal, and Spain.
Great Britain (5 notes): Bank of England One Pound notes (Pick 377a/b), featuring the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II (Young Head). Notes exhibit two different Chief Cashier signatures: J.Q. Gill (3 notes) and D.H.F. Somerset (2 notes). Visible serial numbers include C73N 002977, A11N 056484, B14N 612493, and the duplicate serial DW20 807186 (appearing on two notes signed by Somerset). The Somerset issue represents the final paper one-pound note series.
Portugal (2 notes): Banco de Portugal issues, including one 500 Escudos (QUINHENTOS ESCUDOS) note and one 1000 Escudos (MIL ESCUDOS) note (Serial 2A51942018).
Spain (2 notes): Banco de España issues, including one small 1 Peseta (UNA) note (likely Pick 148, 1953 issue) and one 1000 Pesetas (MIL PESETAS) note (Serial 3L9870247).
