Description
A pair of small, rectangular hinged boxes featuring lids inset with blue and white porcelain shards. These shards are repurposed fragments of Chinese export porcelain, decorated with hand-painted cobalt blue motifs on a white ground. One box displays a repeating stylized foliate pattern, while the other features a more organic floral or cloud design. The metal bodies are embellished with chased and repoussé scrollwork and foliate borders along the sides. The interiors are finished in a smooth, silver-toned metal.
