A Lucky Japanese Porcelain Tea and Dinner Service with Geisha Lithophanes
A collection of Japanese fine white porcelain tableware decorated with a sepia and gold-toned landscape pattern. The decorative scheme features traditional motifs including Mount Fuji, bamboo, and thatched-roof houses, executed with transfer-printing and hand-painted gold highlights. Each piece is finished with a thin gold-line rim. The service includes a teapot with a curved spout and loop handle, a lidded sugar bowl, a cream jug, teacups with loop handles, saucers, side plates, dinner plates, an oval serving platter, and an oval serving bowl. Each teacup base contains a translucent lithophane depicting the head of a geisha with a traditional hairstyle
Condition report:
The service is in good condition overall. Minor rubbing and wear to the gold-line rims on several pieces is visible, consistent with age and use (photo 1).1 saucer has small chip
